3-terminal screws can be applied to AC and DC control circuits. Designed to control the movement of a mechanical part. It is commonly used in industrial control applications to automatically monitor and indicate if the movement limits of a specific device have been exceeded. This mechanism creates a rapid change of contact state when the trigger point is reached. The distance between the trigger point and the reset point is called the reset, hysteresis, or differential travel. A finite travel to reset helps avoid multiple changes of state if the object actuating the switch is subject to vibration. The travel time of the contacts is also independent of the travel time of the actuator.
